Gabriel Joy Reid

Gabriel "Joy" Reid (they/she) is a writer, filmmaker, animator, and illustrator originally from Kansas City, Kansas. They currently live and work in Massachusetts, pursuing their M.F.A. in Visual Narrative at Boston University. From superheroes to social justice, sci-fi to slice-of-life, they strive to bring joy, knowledge and hope to anyone who reads their work. They’re also the founder of Sunflower Workshop, a new independent media production, art education, and publishing company. Sunflower Workshop is dedicated to creating and curating diverse, high-quality stories for kids, teens, and young adults.
